Gallery Weekend Toronto 2024 will kick off in style with a launch party at Patel Brown Gallery, located on Wade Avenue, on Thursday, September 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.!

Come and meet the artists, gallerists and other art enthusiasts to discover the exhibitions in a friendly, festive atmosphere, while enjoying a drink (non-alcoholic options also available)!

Workshop: Introduction to Soapstone

Duration: 2 hours

Andria Keen will give participants an introduction to soapstone carving. Using pre-cut pieces of stone, attendees will learn the basics of carving and leave with their very own miniature sculpture and polishing kit. Tools will be provided.

Paul Petro Contemporary Art invites you to experience renowned artist Robert Wiens in conversation with « Watershed » curator Paul Petro as they lead a discussion about this environmentally focused group exhibition. Artists include Stephen Andrews, Michel Dumont, Su Rynard, Carol Wainio, Robert Wiens and Natalie Wood.

Artists and curators will gather in the gallery together for a social hangout. Audience/participants have the opportunity to come and learn more about the work and the artists. The gallery will host causal tours of the show and facilitate a brief artist talk.

Pop-Up Ceramics Market with Inspirations Studio

On Saturday and Sunday, PB Toronto will also present a pop-up market with Inspirations Studios, a low barrier ceramics program for women and gender diverse people who have experienced marginalization, featuring works by the program’s members. All proceeds from sales will go directly to the members.
